Last Autumn we were invited to a University of Alabama home game against the University of Tennessee. I took the opportunity to document the game day with a single fixed 35mm lens on my Canon 60d.
I like to limit myself to a single lens, especially a fixed focal length lens. It gives me an opportunity to create images within artificial restrictions and I find I like the images better afterward. It’s easy to get caught up in the “if I put this lens on, I could zoom and reframe this” way of thinking. But, when you have one lens and no zoom, you find yourself thinking more like “how can I move to make this a better image?”
